Who is eligible to apply for nursing student loans?
In order to be eligible to apply for nursing student loans, you must be a graduate student in a degree or certificate program. In order to obtain nursing student loans from Student Aid Centers, you will also need to be enrolled in one of our approved schools on at least a half-time bases. How does your credit rating affect your nursing student loans?
our credit rating will have an affect on your nursing student loans. In order to apply, you need to be a credit-ready or credit-worthy borrower.
In addition, credit-ready borrowers must meet certain credit requirements and either be US citizens or permanent residents and must have lived in the United States for the past two years.
Credit-worthy borrowers must also meet residency requirements as well as fit additional criteria. They must have been employed or in business/self-employed for two years. They must be able to provide proof of their current income and have demonstrated a satisfactory credit history for 21 months. Lastly, they must have lived at their current residence for one year or longer.
Both credit-ready borrowers and credit-worthy borrowers may be eligible for better rates if they apply with a credit-worthy co-signer who meets borrower criteria.
Can international students apply for nursing student loans?
Student Aid Centers makes nursing student loans available to international graduate students as long as they are able to apply with a qualified, credit-worthy co-signer. Also, international students will need to provide student visas and other required documents (details are available from Student Aid Center loan counselors).
Repayment of your nursing student loans.
Student Aid Centers
makes the repayment of your nursing student loans as
simple as possible.
They do
this by allowing you to make low monthly payments and
taking up to 20 years to repay your loans - with no
penalties for prepayment. And, of course, you won't have
to worry about paying back your loans while you are in
school - the principal and interest payments on your
nursing student loans will be deferred while you are a
student.
