How Your Resume Post Can Get You A Job You Can Be Proud Of
You've worked hard during your school
days to make good grades. You've worked with school
administrators and proven to them you're a good student. You've involved
yourself in extra-curricular activities to show that you're a
leader. You've even done a few internships to get on the job
experience. Now
you're almost ready to get that good job you've always dreamed
of. You've done everything right. But there's one problem. You
don't have tons of people knocking down your door offering you
good jobs.
What you need is career placement
assistance. What you need is to start doing some resume
posting. First, you'll want to actually have a resume. Resumes
are easy to create, and any major word processing program like
Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Works has a few
resume templates. Your basic resume will include your
education, High schools, Colleges, Universities, etc. It will
also list your job history. List them from last to first.
You'll also want to list any special certificates or
accomplishments. Then, you'll want to list any
extra-curricular activities you've done such as volunteering
etc. And you'll want to list hobbies. Last, you'll want to
list at least 6 references. These can be professors, former
employers, people in high standing of the community, etc.
The main point is that you want your
resume to be customized to the type of job that you are
applying for. This doesn't mean that you put something
inaccurate on it, but it does mean that you don't put
information on the resume that may not pertain to the specific
job that you are applying for at that given moment.
In the old days, you'd have to send out
resume by mail to each prospective employer. Now, with the
Internet being so powerful, you can type up your resume once,
and then post it here and virtually thousands of prospective
employers can look at your resume.
The benefit of doing a resume post and
then a search for your specific kinds of jobs is that you
don't have to leave your home to do it. You don't have to get
dressed and fight your way through traffic. You don't have to
get up at 8 am in the morning to do it. Best of all, you can do it any time and at any given
day, even on weekends. Your job search can be done 24 hours.
In fact, it's like having your own little job hunter working
for you twenty four hours.
Many students have a difficult time
finding a job after graduating from their schools and their
school administrators always advise them to go ahead and do a
job search on the Internet. There are hundreds of millions of
businesses on the Internet that are looking for employees.
Your chances of landing a good paying job are sky high, when
you do a resume post and search the online job sites!
