Who can
apply for Veterinary student loans?
You can apply for Veterinary student loans if
you are a graduate student in a degree program. You must
be enrolled at least half-time at an eligible school. To
find out quickly whether or not your school is approved,
contact a loan counselor at Student Aid
Centers.

How does your credit
rating affects Veterinary student loans.
Having a great credit rating - or applying
with a qualified co-signer who does - can lower the
overall cost of your Veterinary school loans. However,
in order to apply, you must be either credit-ready or
credit-worthy.
Credit-ready borrowers must meet certain
credit requirements even though an established credit
history is not necessary. In addition, credit-ready
borrowers must either be a U.S. citizen or a permanent
resident who has lived within the United States for the
past two years.
Credit-worthy borrowers or co-signers must
also meet the above residency requirements as well as
the following:

Credit-worthy borrowers must have at
least two years of employment or have been in business
or self-employed for two years or more;

Credit-worthy borrowers must have
proof of their current income;

Credit-worthy borrowers must show 21
months of a satisfactory credit history;

Credit-worthy borrowers must have
resided at their current residence for at least one
year.
Can international students apply for
Veterinary student loans?
International students may apply for
Veterinary student loans through Student Aid Centers as
long as they apply with a qualified co-signer. In
addition, international students must be prepared to
provide student visas or other necessary documentation.

Repaying
your Veterinary student loans.
Because your Veterinary students loans are
meant to make paying for Veterinary school more
manageable, Student Aid Centers defers principal and
interest payments while you are in school and for a 180
day grace period upon graduation. Additional repayment
terms also make repaying your student loans as simple as
possible: there are no penalties for prepayment, you can
make low monthly payments and you will be able to take
up to 20 years to pay back your Veterinary student loans
